ST. PAUL, MN - July 1, 2016 /For immediate release/--Hormel Foods Corp. has once again recognized Smyth Companies as a top supplier for the year 2015. Hormel presented Smyth with their Spirit of Excellence award on June 29 at Smyth's Minneapolis, Minnesota production facility. Jonathan Caporale of Hormel made the presentation to a group of Smyth employees which included Rick Lavigne, Smyth account representative for Hormel, and Smyth president Scott Fisher.
Hormel considers a variety of factors when selecting a Spirit of Excellence supplier. Hormel's supplier rating index measures supplier performance against various benchmarks, and a supplier needs to maintain a 92% total index rating to be considered for the Spirit of Excellence. Other components of the award score are levels of technical and customer service, innovative solutions and improvements, and review by a supplier quality committee.
