Pit Crew Lead - Minneapolis, MN

Role Summary

In addition to performing all the responsibilities of the Pit Crew Tech, the Pit Crew Lead provides leadership for the department through training, documentation, communication, and direct support to personnel.  This position will also provide technical support ensuring production success and profitability for both internal and external customers. This position will show leadership in areas of Lean Manufacturing, KAIZEN, ISO quality systems, innovation and current systems technology.

Role Summary

  • Understand UV ink as it relates to the process of printing.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.  
  • Able to manage time effectively on multiple long and short-term projects simultaneously, meeting all related deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal, collaboration, and relationship building skills to effectively work with a diverse group/variety of people and personalities.
  • Able to display high levels of customer service, responding promptly and thoroughly to the inquiries and needs of individuals both internal and external to the organization.
  • Must have basic math, reading, writing skills, and have the ability to tactfully communicate to customers and employees of all levels of the company.

Education, Experience and Credentials  

  • High School degree or equivalent and/or two or more years in central impression flexographic printing; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.  
  • Must be able to participate in a night or weekend rotation to cover the overtime shifts.

As a Finishing Operator, you perform a variety of tasks related to finishing operations.  This position also inspects labels for errors and defects, and package finished product produced off label printing equipment, with set up for delivery to our customers.

Physical requirements necessary to perform this Job

  • Perform heavy work, lifting up to 50 pounds, with frequent lifting/carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
  • Hear, speak and effectively verbally communicate in the English language, including following oral and written instructions, in order to communicate with people inside and outside the organization.
  • Physical ability to move around office/building area repeatedly throughout the day.
  • Ability to stand for full shift with frequent bending.
